We get a lot of people asking us for next day delivery or delivery 'as quick as possible'
We have to quote around 14 to 21 days for electronics (including iPads) and up to 28 days for furniture. A lot of the time this is down to our supplier timescales and not ours.
We thought it useful to explain our process to you
Please do not ask us to do this quicker. We get numerous emails asking this. Rest assured we do this as fast as possible for you.
1. We allow 48 hours to 7 days for your order to be approved and signed by you and by us.
2. We have to process your payment and ensure that clears. This can take 2 - 7 days depending on how you paid your deposit. We cannot order your item until your payment is cleared. We combine steps 1 and 2 above so to minimise the delay.
3. We pass your order to our specialist delivery team (this has to be on a working week day not the weekend). This delivery team doesn’t actually physically deliver your order to you but they liaise with our suppliers and manage the logistics of the order process.
We give them 48 hours from receipt of your order to place our order with the supplier
4. Once the supplier has received the order from us we have to pay them. They bill us daily but this can sometimes take 48 hours. We do a daily BACs run of payments. This can take 3 working days (sometimes a little more) for them to acknowledge and receipt this payment.
5. This then enters there delivery cycle. Most of our suppliers agree to deliver within 7 days of receipt of payment to our customers
6. In the case of furniture, This may be made custom to your order so can incur a manufacturing time delay.
We also use a number of different delivery companies depending on what you have ordered, where you live, how many people need to be in the delivery van (e.g. 2 man sofa deliveries up flights of stairs), which supplier we are using, where they are located etc etc so it is not always possible to tell you who your order is with until it is already out for delivery.
It is our number one priority to get you your order as quickly as possible and apologise for the wait! It will be worth it :)
Please note, 90 percent of our incoming emails are in regards to people asking us for daily order updates. As of 30th January 2011 we are now requesting people allow the full delivery schedule stated before asking for delivery dates. Your order is delivered as quick as possible and your order is often delivered as soon as we have your delivery date, so please allow this process to work its course before sending these types of emails.
Also due to a few of our customers harrassing our delivery companies directly for quicker deliveries we are no longer passing out external tracking numbers. We will give you a delivery date and abide by that. Sorry but we cannot have trade accounts jeopardised by a few who wont let the order process takes its due course. We hope you understand.
